Armenia is the first country to have adopted Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD. As a result, Armenians became master in religious architecture, which became famous across all the ancient world.

Located within Yerevan, in the district of Avan, lies a hidden gem of architectural ingenuosity and beauty, the Katoghike Tsiranavor Church of Avan. The walking tour will be completed with a brief visit of the Avan cemetery and a small middle-age chapel from the 13-14th century.

We will explore 2 different churches built from 6th to 13th century.
